We went to the store and decided to go to the movies ('27 Dresses', what else?). When we got out it was 6:20. We meandered home since it was 29 and looked like things were starting to ice over on the roads. No big deal, though. I thought.
As we were coming UP the hill to the turn to our housing neighborhood, I lost control of the car. We just slipped and slid UP the hill. It was wierd. Another car was coming down the other side of the road so I just turned the wheel like a good doobie, and we headed right toward a ditch on our side of the road. I didn't want to slide head first into the steep little ditch, so I turned the wheel to slide into the curb sideways toward the left and told Kristen to hold on. We were SLIGHTLY headed level at this point. We slid into the curb and stopped. Oops, I think we knocked over the street sign. I put it into drive, slowly made the u-turn back up the hill, and crawled home. Put it in 4wd. The only thing was the steering wheel now pointed to the right 45 degrees instead of level. But the turns were made without any issues, and it didn't hitch or anything as we drove straight into the garage. It does, however, look like my left wheel is angled funny. I called the office manager to let her know that if it's more than an alignment problem I may have to stop to get it fixed in the morning. Otherwise, I could do it tomorrow night (where I bought the tires gives you re-alignments for free, I hope this counts as a freebie!). Kristen has an 8am class, too. I may have her stop at the place after class, if we can drive it ok in the morning.

Day of Rest?
It seems that while I'm at the office all I can think about is being at home and 'doing'...sewing, quilting, fixing, exercising, etc. When I'm at home, all I can motivate myself to do sometimes is use the laptop in the living room. I joined 'Jillian' of Biggest Loser fame online to start losing weight, yesterday was my first day. I didn't exercise, and I blew the diet while reading late last night. I should be up in my sewing room making that Going Away present for Holly, our law clerk (she wanted a 'Girlie' apron like the ones I made for Christmas presents). Here I sit, creating a blog while the snow gently falls outside. How darn cozy can this get???
